February Rocks

I like February because of the Chicago Auto Show. My birthday coming at the end of the month is okay too, but the Auto Show is far cooler. My favorite cars were the Lexus IS (IS-F was fantastic) and the Lotus Exige.

After sitting in an IS, I have determined that I will my next vehicle will be one. Nothing against the RAV4, it's a great vehicle. When I bought the RAV4 I told myself that this is kind of a trial of the whole SUV experience. I didn't want to get a ginormous beast, and I didn't want to get a car, so I got something in between. However, this being a trial of sorts, I know that I can go back to a car. And, after sitting in the IS, I know I will be going back to that car.

Other good stuff ... I used a 250GB Seagate hard drive to load Windows Vista Ultimate x64 on my computer. Problem is that my Serial ATA RAID card isn't supported under the Vista operating system. Many thanks to Promise for not updating my RAID card's drivers since 2003, I greatly appreciate it. I also appreciate the prompt response (read: nothing but automated "we got your message lol" email). I have a 500GB RAID 1 on that card that contains images of all of the CDs I have bought over the years, home videos that I have converted to DVD, and all of the digital pictures I have taken since the time the IBM UltraStars failed on me. I've decided that I will grab a HighPoint card tomorrow, assuming Promise doesn't respond to my support request. That means I'll have a spare RAID card again.

That's all I've got at the moment.
